About

My favorite Christmas ornament has always been a tiny walnut baby we've had as long as I can remember. This year I decided to recreate this teensy treasure... and I couldn't stop at just one. Now there's a walnut baby play date on my tree!

You Will Need (11 things)

  • Embroidery Floss
  • Knife
  • Ric Rac
  • Wooden Beads
  • Cotton Balls
  • Toothpick
  • Glue Gun
  • Scissors
  • Fabric
  • Sharpie
  • 1 A Walnut Shell

Steps (11 steps, 30 minutes)

  1. 1

Carefully split open the walnut. Ideally, you'll have 2 perfect halves. Scrape out the inside of the nut.

  2. 2

Cut one half of the walnut in half. This can be tricky as there's no easy way to get a straight cut.

  3. 3

Hot glue some ric rac to the cut edge of the quarter shell.

  4. 4

Hot glue a small square of fabric to one side of the inside of the half shell.

  5. 5

Hot glue the other side of the fabric to the other side of the inside of the shell.

  6. 6

Stuff some polyfil or a cotton ball under the fabric.

  7. 7

Draw a face on a wooden bead and glue it onto the cotton and fabric.

  8. 8

Hot glue the 2 shell pieces together.

  9. 9

Hot glue small wooden beads onto a piece of the toothpick and hot glue onto the bottom of the shell.

  10. 10

Hot glue a piece of embroidery floss to the front and back of the shell.

Hang on your tree and cherish forever!
