Well, I have a friend and his birthday was coming up. I didn't have much money so I decided to take a pencil cup I made from an old record and turn it into a cool gift basket. :D

Okay, if you haven't done this already you need to take a vinyl record and mold it into a cup/bowl-like shape. What I did was put the oven at 250 F, put a pot in the oven upside-down and lay the record on top. In about 3 minutes you should see the record drooping. Take it out and I put the record into an oversized soda cup from a gas station and pressed it down. Leave it for a few minutes until it hardens and take it out. If it isn't the shape you want, stick it back in the oven and experiment with other objects to mold it around.
Put two holes in the cup for the wire handle to go through.
Okay, stupid me used jewelry wire. It isn't strong enough to hold up the beads so I got three strands of wire and braided it like so. It holds up pretty well, but I'd recommend something thicker or to add in one or two more strands.
Tie one end of the wire into one hole and start beading.
When you're done beading, tie the other end and shape your wire. Mine looks a little funky because of the shape of the cup and the weight of the beads.
