This project was pretty much free for me since I got the old records from a friend. It can get kind of hard cutting old the butterfly if you don't use sharp scissors. You may also want to use a pair of gloves when working with the record because it will be very hot!
This project was pretty much free for me since I got the old records from a friend. It can get kind of hard cutting old the butterfly if you don't use sharp scissors. You may also want to use a pair of gloves when working with the record because it will be very hot!
First you want to make a butterfly pattern. And get a white crayon.
Place the pattern on the record and trace it with the white crayon.
Place the record into the oven on a cookie sheet. (I used foil on top of the cookie sheet because the record stuck to the cookie sheet) Take the record out when it gets very floppy, and soft.
Use a pair of very sharp scissors, and cut out the butterfly. You may only get half way through the butterfly and the record may start to get hard, just put it back into the oven till it gets soft again.
Once cutout I folded the butterfly to make it look 3-D. You want to do this when it start's to get hard.
Now Hang your butterflies!
