Measure the window dimensions. My window is small, so I could use a pillowcase with minimal cutting. Remember when you measure, you want to add an inch at the bottom for a hem, and a two inches at the top to fold over for the sleeve where the curtain rod fits through.
Measure and cut your fabric. Remember, you will be hemming the fabric at the bottom as well as top.
Fold over one-inch around the remaining edges of the sheet, ironing and pinning as you go. If your sheet does not have a hem at the top, fold over a two-inch piece of fabric. This is where you will feed the curtain rod through.
sew the hem down, making sure to leave openings at the edge of the top hem so you can fit the curtain rod in.
