Vintage Paper & Pen Holder

Picture frame turned Pen & Paper Holder

I had this picture frame laying around for at least 5 years. So this was about time. This How-to does not include the decorations. So before gluing everything together, it might be easier to paint and decorate the parts separately. I added a vintage picture to the background, painted the frame and added a fringe of black lace. I have kept the original hook on the backing, so it can be hung up. Hope this isn't too confusing, if yes, let me know, I'll explain the best I can!

Description

I had this picture frame laying around for at least 5 years. So this was about time. This How-to does not include the decorations. So before gluing everything together, it might be easier to paint and decorate the parts separately. I added a vintage picture to the background, painted the frame and added a fringe of black lace. I have kept the original hook on the backing, so it can be hung up. Hope this isn't too confusing, if yes, let me know, I'll explain the best I can!

Instructions

  1. Small deconstruct 1238942630

    Deconstruct your picture frame.

  2. Small deconstruct1 1238942709

To create the depth, glue 4 chopsticks to the front side of the frame, like in the picture. The "foot" of the frame hasn't been glued yet, but that's how it will look like. (this is the backside)

  3. Small deconstruct2 1238943086

Now glue the backing on top of the chop sticks. You now have a background. Glue the "foot" at the bottom, so that a pocket is formed.
