Use paper and paint to create these fun Vintage Clown Pumpkins!
Gather your materials! You will need: - White Pumpkins! Fake or real (if real paint white) - Acrylic paint - Decorative paper - Buttons - Fabric trim - Yarn - Scissors, tape, and glue gun
Create neckwear for your pumpkins! This can be a ruff, collar, or ruffle. The pumpkin will just sit on top of these. I created a ruff two different ways. The first way was by cutting the paper into thin strips and looping them. I taped the loops around a circular piece of paper to fit under one of the pumpkins. I did two layers of paper loops.
Another way to create a paper ruff is by folding long strips of paper into accordion pleats.
You can also use pots to raise your pumpkins off the ground if you plan to create paper collars, bow ties, or ties for them.
Create a paper hat for your pumpkin! You can use paper party hats and cover them in black or orange paper. You could also create your own fun paper hats like a mini top hat. Use buttons, pom poms, ribbon trim, any thing you have on hand, to decorate the hats!
Paint faces onto the pumpkins! Using orange and black acrylic paints, paint vintage clown faces onto the pumpkins. You can look up vintage clowns online for inspiration. I penciled my faces in first, then went over it in paint.
Your Vintage Clown Pumpkins are complete and ready for Halloween!
