This layered filigree ring features a vintage button. It's easy to put together but looks like a million.
This layered filigree ring features a vintage button. It's easy to put together but looks like a million.
Gather your materials. I used a combination of bright brass and antique brass, but you can use your choice of metals. Substitute a bead or a cabochon for the button if you like. You can also simply glue the whole assembly.
Slide the wire through the back of the button and place it in the bead cap. Carefully press the prongs against and around the button with pliers.
Press the wires down and slide through holes in the dapped flower filigree, then the flat flower filigree. Press the wire up against the filigree and make a small loop on each end. Press the loops close to the back of the filigree.
Wrap the filigree bar around a ring mandrell or a dowel. This ring will be adjustable.
Glue the flower assembly to the ring with jewelry glue. If you like vintage-style jewelry, I wrote a book that you might enjoy: Vintage Impressions Jewelry.
