My grandmother gave me some of my great-aunt's jewelry. One piece was the blue jewel I used in this project. I wanted to make a fancy cord to wear it with, so I looked online for hemp knots. I chose the half knot. Instead of using hemp, I chose crochet thread to give the necklace more of a soft, Victorian feel. I made three strands of half knots and tied them together around a toggle clasp. I covered the knots in glue to keep them from untying.
