Vegetarian Sloppy Joes

Sloppy Joes with Quorn Mince and BrewDog Punk IPA beer!

I wanted to convince Tom that'd he like Sloppy Joes once he tried them so I cooked up a batch with his favourite beer Punk IPA from BrewDog. He loved them!

You Will Need (14 things)

  • 350 g Quorn Mince
  • 350 g Tomato Sauce
  • 330 ml Bottle of BrewDog Punk IPA Beer
  • 3 tbsp Balsamic Vinegar
  • 1 Onion
  • 4 Garlic Cloves
  • 4 Dill Pickles
  • 10 Green Olives
  • 1 tbsp Wholegrain Mustard
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • Burger Buns
  • Crispy Onions to serve
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • Olive Oil

Steps (6 steps, 35 minutes)

    Bring the Quorn mince and beer to the boil in a large sauce pan.

    Bring to the boil, add the balsamic vinegar and leave to simmer for 10 minutes.

    Meanwhile, chop the onion and garlic and saute until golden in a frying pan with some olive oil.

    Stir the cooked onions and garlic into the mince and add the tomato sauce and mustard.

    Chop the olives and dill pickles. Season the mince with cinnamon and paprika and remove from the heat before stirring in the chopped pickles and olives.

    Serve on lightly toasted burger buns with a topping of crispy onions.
