I made this cake for my boyfriend for Valentines day thinking I was using dairy free margarine (as he's allergic to milk) but half way through I realised I wasn't. So unfortunatly he couldn't eat it - but I got to and it was yummy. It should have been double the size (with jam in the middle) but I only had enough ingredients to make half the mixture :( I used pink food colouring and strawberry flavouring for the icing. I cut a heart out of paper, placed it on the icing (after letting it dry for 10 minutes) and then put my sprinkles on and peeled off the paper to reveal the heart.
