Alrighty, a friend of mine has a garage full of large machinery, lathes, drill presses and my personal favorite the Bridgeport Milling machine named after my home town :) Long story short he started cleaning out the years of clutter and he came upon a deteriorated skull and immediately thought Jon would love this and wouldn't you know he was right lol. The only salvageable parts of this skull was the lower jaw and upper jaw, basically the teeth and pallet and some of the nasal cavity. I took it home and cleaned it thoroughly and since it was bone dry (did you just laugh? I did lol) I used a little super glue on the fragile bits and they soaked up the glue and hardened them right up. I glued the bones to the plastic ball and filled in the gaps with clay, allowed this to dry and filled in the cracks. I knew from the beginning that I wanted to make a se'irim a kind of furry goatlike demon. His body is made up of 3 pieces of wood that looked a bit like xmas trees, I filled in the center with clay. His arms and legs are wire from an old broken umbrella. His first incarnation was horribly rickety and hung up in my workshop by a window and served as a creepy wind chime lol. I wrapped his joints in floral wire once he was made a little more rigid. His forearms and thighs are a seed pod of some sort my mother had in a flower arrangement, I spread rubber cement on them and cut out some rabbit fur and attached the fur to the pods. I blobbed on some quick cure gorilla glue in a few places where I wanted globules of blood, I misted the glue with water which started the expansion of the glue neat trick huh? His feet or rather hooves are made of air drying clay and all of his little muscle fibers are red hemp and his hands are just funky shaped twigs. I brushed his fur with a water and white glue solution so he would look a little more dirty.

I recently sold it to a friend who loves him as much as I do :)

His hands are made of crayola model magic as are his little peasant shoes. His shield is just a broken piece of wood with a couple wooden embellishments added. Add interest by making circular indentations in the face of each slice and filling with epoxy resin. You can colour the resin, using a single colour per piece or combining different shades. Larger slices of twig can be resin-filled in the same way to make a striking pendant for a necklace or the centrepiece for a brooch.

Quick size guide

For reasonably chunky threading beads, find a twig with an approximate diameter of 2cm. A length of 10cm will make ten 1-cm beads. Make sure you find a length of twig for the number of beads you wish to make. A branch slice with a diameter of 5–8cm would make a good-sized pendant or, perhaps, a centrepiece for a brooch.

He sat in a corner for months as just a head, then a head neck and body. Needless to say I turned his creepy ass around cuz he often scared the crap out of me. I struggled for a little while, wondering what I would eventually turn him into. I had a few spare "teeth" I made for my Red Cap Goblins so I figured I could make another Goblin. His face is like most of my dolls, clay sculpted directly onto a plastic ball, the ears are model magic and his teeth are little bits of sharpened twigs. His neck is a thin aluminium tube, bent and coated in hot glue to give it a loose waddle look. His hands are clay and the rest of him is predominantly wood. His feet are made of model magic and painted to look a bit like peasant shoes. Believe it or not I find him much less creepy now lol.

All Natural Wreath

This wreath is made from cuttings from my back garden. There's ivy, hydrangea, hedge bindweed and a small twig from a shrub that I don't know the name for.

I cut off about 10 long (50+ cm) pieces of ivy. They were threatening to take over the garden instead of keeping to just the fence, so they had to go.
I twisted them into a circle, starting with 2 and adding more one by one.
Then I took two hydrangea flowers which were hanging limply from their stalks (they were broken when the painter put his ladder into our garden...) and put them into the ivy ring. This did not stay in place so I found some hedge bindweed, which is coming from the neighbours garden and is actually a pest, and bound the flowers into place.

When looking for a place to hang the wreath I noticed a hole in the wall where probably a hook or screw had been. I didn't feel like finding a plug and screw to fit the hole so I went back to the garden and cut a twig that was large and long enough to fit in the hole and support the wreath.

TADA! All natural result. Of course it will all dry out but the wreath I made last year of only ivy lasted at least a few months before falling apart. Hydrangea has a reptutation of drying pretty, only the leaves on the stem are hanging limply so far.
