You Will Need (7 things)

  • Tins
  • Paintbrushes
  • Paints
  • Printer
  • Paper
  • Sponge
  • Country Chic Paint Picture Transfer Glue

Steps (5 steps, 120 minutes)

  1. 1

Upcycling tin cans that you are done with is a great way to organize your things without spending any money.

I began with these white tin cans with plastic lids.

  2. 2

Give your tins a vintage feel by adding red grain-sack type stripes. Thin the paint down a bit with water before dragging a paintbrush around the tin.

  3. 3

Print off all of the words you want to use as labels on your storage tins.

Make sure to print the labels off in reverse so that they are the right way when you are done.

  4. 4

Apply some image transfer medium to the ink side of each label and stick it to the tin can in the middle.

Let the transfer medium completely dry by leaving it over night.

  5. 5

Using a few drops of water, begin to lightly rub the paper until it begins to ball up.

Continue to gently rub the wet paper until all of the paper has rubbed off and the ink word is left on the tin.
