You Will Need (10 things)

  • 1 Paper
  • 1 Plastic Packaging or acetate sheet
  • Round Paper Punch
  • Round Paper Punch
  • 1 Tiny Shape Punch or Confetti
  • 1 Craft Glue
  • 1 Scissors
  • 1 Foam Sheets
  • Rubber Stamp
  • Stamp Pads

Steps (27 steps, 20 minutes)

  1. 1

    Gather you supplies!
    I used a 2 inch paper punch (blue)and a 1 1/2 inch paper punch (green).
The package of foam is from the dollar tree.
I used scrap bits of paper for the shaker and to punch out confetti.
The paper punches for the confetti were at walmart for $1 each.

  2. 2

You can buy clear acetate or printed acetate sheet from the craft store, usually with the scrapbook paper.
For this I am going to use the plastic packaging from some sizzlet dies I bought a while back. Many packages use clear, thin plastic fronts you could use for this.

  3. 3

I cut a flat piece of the package so it will fit into my paper punch.

  4. 4

Now I am going to punch out a 2 inch circle to be the top of the shaker.

  5. 5

Place the circle to the side for now.

  6. 6

I am decorating the paper that will become the background of the shaker.
I just stamped a similar color first.

  7. 7

I then stamped a focal point in a darker color.

  8. 8

Center your image in the 2 inch paper punch. You may have to trim the edges of the paper to get it to line up in the window.

  9. 9

This is the top and bottom of the shaker- they need to be the same size.

  10. 10

The foam creates the well to hold the confetti. Start by cutting a 1 1/2 inch circle out of the foam. This is the window space of the shaker.

  11. 11

Now center the hole in the 2 inch punch. This is giving us a surface to glue it all together.

  12. 12

Repeat the process with the foam cutting out as many rings as you want for the depth. I like to use 3 rings.

  13. 13

Using the same paper as the background cut out another ring- the same as you did with the foam. This will be the frame around the shaker window.
    Cut out a 1 1/2 inch circle.

  14. 14

Center it then cut out a 2 inch circle.

  15. 15

I wanted mine to have the same pattern as the background so I stamped it too- you could do this before punching it out too.

  16. 16

Now we should have 3 foam rings, 1 paper ring, 1 paper circle bottom, and 1 plastic circle top.

  17. 17

Add glue around one of the foam rings.

  18. 18

Place this onto the paper circle background.

  19. 19

Add more glue to the top of the foam ring. And place the next foam ring on top.

  20. 20

Now we have all 3 foam rings glued down to the paper backround creating the base of the shaker.

  21. 21

Punch out some confetti to fill you shaker.
You can also use store bought confetti!

  22. 22

Fill your shaker base with the confetti.

  23. 23

    Glue around the foam ring.

  24. 24

Press the plastic circle onto the foam.

  25. 25

Add glue around the paper ring. And press onto the plastic circle.

  26. 26

Resist the urge to shake until it is dry!
If shaken when the glue is still wet the confetti will be stuck to the top or sides.

  27. 27

Once it's dry you can shake until you heart's content! This is easily glued to cards and atcs!
