I am never able to find bangle bracelets to fit over my hand, so one day in a fury I decided to make my own. These are super simple to make.
I am never able to find bangle bracelets to fit over my hand, so one day in a fury I decided to make my own. These are super simple to make.
Find and empty water bottle. You can use any bottle as long as it's made of thin plastic.
Remove the label if there is one and cut off the top of the bottle with a knife (be sure to use a cutting board so you don't mess up your counter). And please watch your fingers!!
Cut your bottle down the middle with scissors, then cut off the bottom as well.
So now you need to cut a 1 1/2 inch strip from the bottle. Use the natural curvature of the bottle when doing this, and you should end up with a "bangle" template. I then held the two ends together, and made it as big as I wanted. I then used a small piece of tape to hold it together.
Find and old newspaper or magazine and cut 1 inch wide strips.
Get out your Mod Podge, or go buy some and slather it all over the bangle template. Start wrapping the paper around the bangle. You can add as much as you want. I made mine sort of thin, so I could wrap other things around it at the end.
I wrapped scraps of fabric from my scrap heap around my bracelet(it's basically just like step 6, but with fabric scraps). Then when the bangle was dry I added rhinestones with my heat fix rhinestone setter.
