Repurposing an aluminum beverage can will give new life to a found object and a fashion statement to your ears.
Repurposing an aluminum beverage can will give new life to a found object and a fashion statement to your ears.
Empty, rinse and dry an aluminum beverage can. Using tin snips [with extreme caution] carefully deconstruct the can and flatten out the main sheet. Using a ruler and Sharpie and snips, or a large paper hole punch, cut out two matching shapes. If using a square or rectangle it is a good idea to nip off the tiniest bit of each corner to avoid sharp points.
Using an embossing folder and machine, sandwich your metal in the folder and run through the machine to impress a pattern.
Using sand paper or a file, sand sharp edges till smooth. Wipe away any dust. Apply metal paint or patina products as desired. Once dry, gently sand back surface to reveal the raised design.
Hole punch the metal and add jump rings and earring findings.
Wow your friends with your amazing transformation of trash to treasure!
