Use an old leather belt and a bit of tin to create a boho chic cuff with Paris flair
Find a nice used leather belt in good condition with no cracks or damage. Assemble supplies. Measure and cut a piece from the belt that is your wrist measurement PLUS 2 INCHES. If you want it to be loose add and additional 1/2 in or more to your taste. One inch on either end needs to over lap for the snap closure.
Mark two spots on either end of the belt at least 1/2 inch in from the end and centered on the leather. Use leather punch to create an hole. Following manufacturers directions add a snap closure to either end of the belt. Use a coordinating permanent marker to tint the cut edges of the leather as needed.
Cut a shape from a tin container capturing the design you like best. sand the edges smooth.
Hole punch two small holes on either side of the tin piece. Use the tin as a guide by placing it on the cuff in your desired position. Mark the leather through the holes in the tin and punch the leather in these locations. Add a thin layer of adhesive glue to the surface of the tin and apply it to the leather being careful to match up the holes.
Clamp tin in place to dry. Once set, use a thin gauge [22 or 24G work great] wire to 'sew' the tin to the leather on each side. Twist the wire together to secure and tap flat with a hammer. Cut a small piece of cloth or leather and use it with adhesive to cover the twisted wire and protect the wrist of the wearer.
Proudly show your boho chic style and Parisian flair!
