I created these fondant cupcake toppers for the the Jubilee last year but they would be perfect for a street party too.

You Will Need (7 things)

  • White Sugar Paste (Fondant)
  • Small Brush
  • Red And Navy Blue Paste Food Coloring
  • Red Edible Glitter
  • Rolling Pin
  • Icing Sugar (for dusting your work area)
  • Knife

Steps (8 steps, 60 minutes)

  1. 1

Colour some sugarpaste navy. Roll out and cut to match the size of your cupcakes.

  2. 2

Create the red and white strips for the flag by laying a strip of red sugarpaste on top of a slightly wider strip of white sugarpaste. Roll out gently to make a bi-colour strip.

  3. 3

Cut some red and white strips with an arrow end so they match in the centre nicely.

  4. 4

Wet (just use water) in the shape of a cross using a small brush.

  5. 5

    Assemble the flag.

  6. 6

Use the circle cutter again to trim excess.

  7. 7

Roll out some red sugarpaste and cut out a small heart.
Immediately dip in red glitter (freshly rolled sugarpaste is wet enough to make the glitter stick).
Use a dab of water to glue the heart to the flag.
You may use the brush to apply more glitter to the red stripes of the flag.
