Description

Pink and black ribbon lengths and sparsely placed beads on chain give this necklace a cool and classic feel, so why not add a new dimension to your little black dress with this stylish ribbon necklace. Lengths of ribbon are held together with ribbon crimps interspersed with pandora beads. Iron thread beads are mounted on eyepins and attached to trace chain and connected to the ribbon crimps.

Instructions

  1. Cut two 80cm lengths each of black and pink ribbon. Layer your ribbon alternating between black and pink. At one end, fold the ribbon in on itself and place in a crimp with the loop facing the end. Using flat nosed pliers, squeeze flat. Open an 8mm silver plated jump ring, add to the crimp loop and close.

  2. Make a loose twisted effect by pinching the ribbon together making sure the loop faces away from the end. Add another crimp 10cm along with the loop facing away from the end. Add another crimp 10cm along from the last one with the loop facing towards the one just added.

  3. Thread all four lengths through a Pandora style bead. Twist the layers again. Add another crimp 10cm away from thelast, facing the opposite direction. Add another crimp 10cm along with the loop facing from the one you just added. Thread all four lengths through another Pandora style bead. 10cm from the last, add another crimp facing the Pandora style bead.

  4. Add another crimp 10cm along, facing away from the last one. Open up an 8mm silver plated jump ring, attach to the crimp loop. Add your trigger clasp and close. At the end of the remaining ribbon add another crimp facing the same way as the last.

  5. Add an iron thread bead to an eyepin. Using cutters, trim the eyepin, leaving a centimetre above the bead. Form a loop using round nosed pliers. Cut four 4cm lengths of trace chain. Open the loop on one side of your beaded eyepin. Attach the end of one length of trace chain and close. Repeat on the other end of the eyepin with another of the trace chain lengths. Repeat this step with a second iron thread bead.

  6. Attach a 5mm black antique jump ring to each end of your assembled trace chains. Join one of the jump rings to the next crimp along after your jump ring fastener. Close the jump ring. Attach the other end to the next crimp along. Attach the second assembled trace chain onto the next two crimps. Join the remaining bead to the end crimp using a jump ring.
