This is a recipe I had been wanting to try out for a while. After all that leftover turkey sat there I decided to give it a go and it was ridiculously tasty. This also works with leftover chicken.
This is a recipe I had been wanting to try out for a while. After all that leftover turkey sat there I decided to give it a go and it was ridiculously tasty. This also works with leftover chicken.
Begin with your left over turkey carcass. How much soup you make depends on how much of those leftovers you have. Dump your drumsticks, wings, ribcage, and leftover scraps of meat in your pot. Pour in just enough water to cover. Simmer for 20-30 minutes.
While that is boiling slice up your carrots and celery. Optional: Dice your 1/4 cup onion, mince 1 clove garlic
After 20-30 minutes remove the bones and meat from the water. Set it aside to cool a bit. Add in any seasonings you like to the broth: Rosemary, garlic salt, onion powder, ect.
Toss your veggies into the soup stock. Let them cook for 15 minutes.
Pull the meat from the bones. Once the veggies have cooked for 15 minutes put the meat back in the stock. Stir. Taste your stock to see if it needs salt, a little water, more rosemary, ect.
Add in half a bag of egg noodles and a half can of peas. You can adjust these amounts by how much soup you have and how much you like noodles or peas. Let this cook until noodles are tender.(10 mins)
Enjoy your tasty homemade soup. It's a real boyfriend/family member/friend pleaser. It's also great with chicken and is a great comfort food.
