This is awesome! As soon as I saw it, I made some with some leftover quilting fabric and old buttons. They came out great, even without starch or interfacing. I'm going to make them and stitch onto elastic hair ties as party favours for my daughter's birthday.

Used PVA glue at the end and left it to dry so the petals would stay apart- didn't have any starch or interfacing. Actually worked. Happy
Had to sew through the top and bottom together too.
Otherwise the petals had a huge hole in the middle- where they all joined :]
its pretties :]
would like to post a picture, but idk how ;)
thnx for the tutorial =]

hey! i find just pushing out the center and like, bending the edge of the petal to encourage the shape.. if that makes sense, Some fabrics don't lend themselves to this project.
Totally try some more starch.
I would love to see a photo!

Got it pretty good on the first try. I made it bigger so it would be easier to work with till I got the hang of it.
just one question... how do you keep the pedals open?! they keep folding back in.
Maybe I need more starch?
