this project is also from generation-t, called laced glovelets [:
take your sleeves
cut out along the seam
it should look like this nowww
measure eight inches along the hem and five and a half inches up to make a rectangle, then cut it out. doesnt have to be perfect though
wrap the sleeve around your hand and cut out the excess fabric if there was any. then, cut off another one inch from ONE EDGE ONLY. i did it on both and now the gloves are a little tighter than i like it ]:
now make little holes half an inch from the edge and one inch apart from each other. there should be 4 to 5 holes do this to both edges
take your shirt strip and lace it up, attaching a safety pin to the ends helps this process
fold the glove in half, with the lace on one side. then cut a slit in the center of the rectangle. this is the thumb hole. make sure that when you're doing the other sleeve, that the thumb hole is one the other side. you dont want two left gloves haha [:
you're done! this doesnt necessarily have to be worn for totoro, it can be for anything you like :D
