I had a strip of burgundy fabric that I used as an emergency hat band... that I decided to make into a "real" one. I dug into my boxes of gears, parts, beads, and found a scrap of lace that almost went completely around the hat AND was about as wide as the strip of fabric. I estimate about an hour because of all the hand sewing and fiddling around with placement. Note- I made this before I joined, so most of the images are ones that I made afterwards to show the steps. More images to come.

Fold the satin fabric and sew into a long tube. Mark the middle of the tube.
Hem the edges of the lace trim. Mark the middle of the length and sew onto the satin tube, matching the mid-point marks
Decorate with clock parts, gears, and beads. Tie around the hat.
