This is my take on the boho chic flower crowns that I’ve seen popping up at Coachella. The beautiful spring time weather inspired me to do something with a floral theme, and adding antlers seemed like a cute extra step to take considering I am “The Yearling”. This was also crazy easy to do, once I got past the clay molding but I think that’s just because I suck at anything to do with clay.

These are your ingredients. As you can see I have two brown clays, but I only used one. I think if I had mixed them I might have gotten a bit more complexity, but I didn’t want to mess with it.
Oh my gosh, seriously fiddling with the clay is the hardest part of this craft. I’m a perfectionist, and it took me ages to feel like I had gotten them somewhat even, only to decide that I actually liked them being a little mismatched and going with it.
This part is totally optional, you can easily just buy a green headband but I couldn’t find one so I wrapped my white headband in green ribbon on all the parts I thought would show. This also adds a bit of comfort because it’s a thin metal headband and so it digs into my head less.
Then I just figured out what placement I wanted for the flowers. I had larger flowers around the antlers and smaller flowers radiating outwards from there. You don’t have to add the toadstools, but I just loved how pretty and vibrant they were.
Then you’re done! You can go frolic in the fields to your hearts content. This headband has been a hug hit with everyone that I’ve shown it to, and I love how it turned out. It’s so fun and vibrant and full of beautiful spring-timey goodness. Wearing it makes me feel like a forest nymph or one of the earth spirits from a Miyazaki film. I also enjoy putting it on the guys heads and making them wear it.
