I needed a tip jar for a tribal fusion belly dance performance and glued this together in a little over an hour Forgive my sloppy glue skills, I'm sure anyone can do much better but I was in a hurry. I first wrapped a piece of black grommet tape around the top and one along the bottom of the vase and secured it with a sparkly black yarn. The bottom piece of grommet tape needed a little hot glue (dotted between the grommets!) to stay put. I then laced the yarn with a plastic darning needle through the top and bottom pieces of grommet tape, tied off the yarn (but leave the long ends on the top for now). I glued the gems between each grommet with hot glue. I wasn't sure what to do with the long pieces of yarn left over so I made two separate tassels and tied them to the leftover long ends on the top. Trimmed all excess yarn (and hot glue bits, in my case) and let the glue set! Now go get those tips! (After the show this became a decoration in my bedroom.)
