Using a variety of tutorials, I basically winged it! The project time includes waiting for glue to set. The link leads to a blog post featuring a collection of tutorials useful for making this kind of fascinator. The hat base is made from a cereal box covered in black broadcloth. I trimmed it with black organza and black/gold stretch lace simply tied around the hat and knotted, with the knot covered by a watch face button. I finished it off with a gold elastic cord from a box of sweets to hold it to my head.
