I found the idea for this wondering around the internet and put it to the back of my mind. I then found out a friend of mine, her mother buys her a cardboard Advent calendar every year and they are harder and harder to come by. I was recently at The Dollar Tree Store and found the tins, 3 to a pack, and the cookie sheet. There was just enough tins to make two of these! Ah! It was meant to be! I made the top one for said friend, decorating it using cut outs from magazines, specifically Christmas issues. The backing is tissue paper stuck on with a glue/water mixture. The second one is a WIP and will be for her mom. This one I'm using scrapbook paper and old Christmas ornaments to decorate. I figure they can switch them and fill each others with notes and goodies.
