This is not my project. But I was so impressed with the tiger face, and it's so simple to do!

This tutorial will teach you how to do tiger stripes, and a tiger face (See nearer the end for this).

You Will Need (2 things)

  • Nail Varnish
  • Eyeshadow Brush

Steps (13 steps, 10 minutes)

  1. 1

First of all you'll need a sponge, or an old eyeshadow brush. Something small that you'll be able to dab the nail varnish on.

  2. 2

The original blogger used these three colours (As well as some more along the way).

First of all, coat your nails in orange nail varnish. It might be an idea

  3. 3

First of all, coat your nails in orange nail varnish. It might be an idea to use to shades of orange, but that's optional.

  4. 4

Next, do the same and dab on some yellow. Making sure to add a little bit to your sponge each time rather than too much!

(Don't forget to clean any mess up along the way with some nail varnish remover)

  5. 5

You'll need to add some stripes now. The original author used gold and black nail art pens.
However you can just use black if you wish, and you could try using liquid eyeliner if you don't have any nail art pens.

  6. 6

Starting at the nail edge, draw horizontal stripes that don't touch, but interlock to make the tiger print, zig zag pattern. It works best if you almost flick the striper towards the centre of the nail, as it makes a neat, tapered point.

  7. 7

Once it's dry, you can go back with the Black striper, almost exactly on top of your gold stripes

  8. 8

In order to do the tiger face...

  9. 9

Take an eyeshadow applicator (as the sponge is smaller and denser!) and add a small amount of white polish.

  10. 10

Dab on the orange base like so

  11. 11

Next, take a green, pink, grey and brown polish . with a dotting tool or brush, add two green dots to the bottom of your white sponged eye areas, and with the pink polish, draw a 'T' shape towards the nail edge. Contour the tiger's nose with two fine lines in brown polish.

  12. 12

Then it's just a case of adding in the detail.

Once again the original author used a black nail art pen, but I suppose liquid eyeliner could be used also.

  13. 13

Don't forget to include a top coat of clear nail varnish to help it stay!

    And you're done. :)
