My friends threw me and Tom a surprise engagement party at the weekend, so I made them all little Tiffany box cakes to say thank you.
My friends threw me and Tom a surprise engagement party at the weekend, so I made them all little Tiffany box cakes to say thank you.
Start off by cutting your sponge cake in to neat cubes. My ones were 4" by 4".
The trickiest part of this project is getting the icing the perfect colour of blue. I used 3 drops of blue and 1 drop of green to get mine just right. Roll out the icing to get a nice even colour. Dye two thirds of your icing a nice Tiffany blue colour. Make sure to dust your rolling pin and surface with lots of icing sugar.
Roll out a square of icing big enough to cover a cube. Make scores outward at each corner.
Carefully fold the icing over the cake cubes, folding the overlap under at the edges and pinching the edges in to neat ridges. Dust off any excess icing sugar.
Roll out the white icing and cut in to long 1" wide strips.
Lay a strip of white icing across the box.
Lay a second strip across the other way. Take another strip and fold the edges in to the middle. Pinch in the middle to make a bow and place on top of your cake.
Decorate all of your cakes and you're done!
Serve with gummy rings :D
