I have a thing for tacky knick knacks. I especially have a thing for tacky owl knick knacks. Sometimes I want to make them not so tacky with this little "trick".

I have a thing for tacky knick knacks. I especially have a thing for tacky owl knick knacks. Sometimes I want to make them not so tacky with this little "trick".

Instructions

1. 

   Start with any piece of thrift store knick knackery. The uglier, the better.

2. 

   GIve it a few coats of paint in your choice of color. Let dry completely between each coat. This particular piece took about 3 coats of paint.

3. 

   Mix your choice of glitter with Mod Podge.

4. 

   Add a little or add a lot of glitter, depending on how sparkly you want your piece to be. Paint your piece with the glitter/Mod Podge mix using a paint brush. Let dry completely.

5. 

   Put it on display, sit back and enjoy the compliments that will soon come pouring in.
