Depending on where you shop this can be very cheep, or a little extra, and depending on how you vary the project changes the time it needs. For example, you could use ready patterned paper! The main point with this craft though, is it is an utter surprize- My mum, dad and sister had no idea at all!

Description

Depending on where you shop this can be very cheep, or a little extra, and depending on how you vary the project changes the time it needs. For example, you could use ready patterned paper! The main point with this craft though, is it is an utter surprize- My mum, dad and sister had no idea at all!

Instructions

  1. Small img 3050 1303320207

First, gather all your prizes, pens, pencils, glue, paper- everything you will need. (Plus a snack and drink- its tiring work!)

  2. Small img 3051 1303320349

Now, first I would suggest getting the invite/letters out of the way first. choose the size of paper (I used half a sheet of A4) and write out a template letter.

  3. Small img 3054 1303320422

Write out neat copies of the letter, decorate and place in their envelopes.

  4. Small img 3055 1303320576

With that covered, you need to start on the trail eggs. Think about what size you want- I went for an A4 sheet of paper, folded over in half, half again and half again. Draw a rough egg shape of the correct size and cut out as many as you want or need. (I made 40)

  5. Small img 3059 1303320634

Now have fun decorating your eggs! (Benson helped here.)

The next bit, is the most time consuming, you need to make a way of attaching the chocolate mini eggs to the paper ones. Now to save time here you could just stick them on with masking tape- but I spend a tiny bit more time making "baskets". Start by cutting out a "T" shape of paper big enough to fit a mini egg in. Next- fold a lip on each tab. Put glue on the folded tap and stick to the back of your egg. This should create a small "pocket" to fit the mini eggs in!

With this done, You just need to sort your prizes.. Mine were: 1st place: Chocolate bunny, Smarties egg, Caramel egg and a Lush balistic egg. 2nd place: Two caramel eggs and a smarties egg. 3rd place: Just under a bag of mini eggs. (the ones I had left over)

  8. Lastly, wait until early easter morn- before anybody is awake. Place the letters by their beds.. sneek out to the garden and put up the eggs about (using the tape to stick them on!) make sure there is a mini egg in each paper egg.. And sneek back into bed and wait for people to wake up!
