Here's a quick tutorial showing you how to create the perfect winged eyeliner. It is definitely something that takes practice, but once you've mastered it, it becomes much easier and quicker to achieve. I recommend investing in a great gel eyeliner, it's much easier to work with than liquid and is suitable for beginners up to pro's :)

You Will Need (2 things)

  • Eyeliner Brush
  • Gel Eyeliner

Steps (5 steps, 10 minutes)

  1. 1

Take an angled eyeliner brush and dip it into your gel eyeliner. Begin in the centre of your eye and slowly draw a line towards the outer corner of your eye whilst sticking as close to the lashline as possible. I suggest starting out with a thin line, then you can thicken it up later. I'm using the Sigma E65 with Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner.

  2. 2

Using the product that's left on your brush, line the inner half of your eye. You want this part of the eyeliner to be the thinnest, so take your time and keep as close to the lashes as possible. If you need more product go for it, just be careful to grab a small amount.

  3. 3

To create the wing you want to place the tip of the brush at the very outer corner of your eye where your upper and lower lashlines meet. To get the perfect angle for your eye you want to aim the wing towards the end of your eyebrow. Take your time and flick the liner out.

  4. 4

From there I like to line from just below the tip of the wing and join it towards the middle of my eye, creating a little empty triangle. Remember, you want the outer half of your eyeliner to be slightly thicker than the inner half.

  5. 5

To finish off, fill in that gap and smooth out any bumps if you have them. You can also thicken up the liner and/or extend the wing if desired.
