I keep all my hardbound books that get damaged (and friends give me theirs) just in case I come up with an idea for an altered book. This one happed to have lost the cover somehow (it was a friends so I don't know exactly what happened to it). For The Corpse Bride I glued all of the pages together and let it dry, than I cut a coffin shape through all of the pages and painted the whole thing black, next I hammered small nails almost all the way into the book around the spine and edge of the book (on the right and left side leaving the top and bottom free of nails). For the doll I used pipe cleaners to make the basic shape and than wraped the entire thing in tea stained lace. I used a seperate piece of lace and attatched it to the top of her head to make a veil. I glued her to the back of the book inside the "coffin". Using eyelash yarn I criss-crossed from nail to nail and than hammered the nails in the rest of the way.
