Description

This is a relatively easy project, but it takes awhile. A really long while.

Instructions

  1. Small photo 167 1239741129

First of all, you'll need 30 square papers. For the sake of sapping my entire origami paper collection, I just cut a bunch of squares into quarters.

  2. Small photo 172 1239741239

Take a square so that the colored side faces you...

  3. Small photo 173 1239741275

    And fold it in half.

  4. Small photo 174 1239741300

Then fold the side towards you back in half so that color shows.

  5. Small photo 175 1239741347

Repeat. It should look like this.

  6. Small photo 176 1239741382

Fold one of the corners to the side, (all layers) diagonally.

  7. Small photo 177 1239741460

Repeat to the other side so that it looks like this.

  8. Small photo 178 1239741490

Where there are approximately 135 degree angles, this is where you will need to fold. Fold a valley fold across both of the 135 degree angles (where the edge is folded). I know this sounds confusing, but when you understand it, it'll be a piece of cake!

    It should look like this.

  10. Small photo 180 1239741747

Now repeat to all 30 pieces. (Grrrrr!!!)

  11. Small photo 183 1239741795

To put it all together, you will need to take the flap of one piece and slide it into the slot of another so that the folds match up.

  12. Small photo 181 1239741863

The slot is where two creases come together on both sides. You should insert the flap into the slot where those creases are, and the folds of the two pieces should overlap. (Here's the slot).

    (Here's the flap).

  14. Small photo 184 1239741954

This is what it should look like when you put two pieces together.

  15. Small photo 185 1239742004

    So put another piece on.

  16. Small photo 186 1239742022

    And another.

  17. Small photo 187 1239742051

    And pretty soon you'll have.....

    A dodecahedron! Happy folding!
