So I had an old Mooks tee that was a tad too small and short to look nice on me, so I upcycled it to a tee dress for my daughter :)

First measure around your models chest/waist and add 2cm.Divide this total measurement in half and you know how wide to make the top 2 pieces. Next measure the height of the top bit. Cut out 2x rectangles according to measurement (make sure you get the logo on it if you have one). Cut out 2 big rectangles for the skirt bit, make sure they're a bit bigger than the first bits you cut out.
Sew two small rectangles together as per pic.
Cut a long rectangle of contrasting colour for the top band to go all the way round the top of the small rectangles and sew on.
Sew large rectangles together at sides as you did with the small ones. And hem the bottom.
Gather the top edge of large rectangle tube.
Pin to small rectangle tube and sew together.
It should now look like this, minus the straps :)
Measure how long you want your straps and use scrap material to make simple straps. Sew them on and you're done!!
Should look something like this..
