I made this fascinator to wear to a friend's Alice In Wonderland surprise party and made Tom a matching teapot hat so he could pour tea into my hat.
I made this fascinator to wear to a friend's Alice In Wonderland surprise party and made Tom a matching teapot hat so he could pour tea into my hat.
You'll need a fascinator base and a plastic bottle which is roughly the same width for this hat.
Cut the bottom edge of the bottle off with a cutting knife.
Carefully cut the spout off the bottle so that you're just left with a cup shaped piece.
Cut a piece of foam in the shape of a handle for your cup.
Cut two slits in the bottle and slip the handle in place.
Place the bottle on top of a sheet of felt and trace a large circle 2" wider than the bottle.
Cut the circle out and cut a slit on one side, stopping in the middle of the cup.
Fold the felt neatly around the outside of the bottle and fold the excess into the middle, taping in place with duct tape.
Cut some more felt to cover the handle.
Cut a circle of felt to cover the fascinator base.
Attach the top of the tea cup to the fascinator base.
Cut a smaller circle of felt to cover the inside of your cup and glue in place.
Cut a large circle of red felt.
Fold it up and place it in the cup to look like tea.
Decorate the rim of your glass with trims, ribbons and gems.
You're all ready for a tea party!
