Family helped make Mario centerpieces for my sons first birthday. They came out great and guest got to keep them.
Family helped make Mario centerpieces for my sons first birthday. They came out great and guest got to keep them.
First get your styrofoam and cut it into the shape you want. You can use a bread knife to cut a lot easier. We carved brick like indents to look like the bricks Mario jumps to get the coins, and we used paint to color them in. Orange / brown paint with black lines. We also glued fake coin that we bought at the dollar store for embellishment.
Then we used the same styrofoam and cut out the number and colored it. We added glitter to make it pop. As well as placed a star balloon to represent the star you get to go fast and be invincible in the game. We put number on the brick using hot glue.
With foam paper try making these cylinder tubes , they are usually green in the game but we thought blue would stand out. Glue in place.
Cut your choice of tissue paper, we did green to make it grass like and glue onto a bigger piece of styrofoam.
We placed a big Mario plush which doubles at as backpack and a lolipop on the blue tube with more Mario theme birthday balloon and your done. You can add or leave off items, it just depends how big or small you want the centerpiece.
