Each hat took about a week of knitting - about five hours each evening. I had to improvise a pattern since I couldn't find anything remotely like what I wanted to make. I still have kinks to work out. My sister wants me to make her an even longer one (the hats shown are roughly 32" long), so I'll try to improve the pattern when I make her hat!

Made with inexpensive acrylic worsted weight yarn.

You Will Need (6 things)

  • 1 Circular Knitting Needles size 8 (16" long)
  • 4 skein Yarn worsed weight yarn, one in each color. (You will have leftovers)
  • 1 Cardboard roughly 5X6"
  • 1 Crochet Hook any size (for weaving ends in)
  • 1 Double Pointed Knitting Needles size 8
  • 1 knitting Graph Paper sheet (for designing patterns)
