This again is a creation for a friend. I know there are patterns out there, but I made up my own.

You Will Need (5 things)
- Felt
- Thread
- Polyfill
- Scissors
- Needle
Steps (9 steps, 30 minutes)
-
1
Cut out your felt. You will need yellow and green (for the top).
You will be cutting out a vaguely butterfly shape and a long skinny piece with a bulbous bit at the end from the yellow to make the body of the squash.
From the green you will cut a small circle and a short skinny bit for the top. -
2
Fold the yellow in half pin it together to avoid slippage, and cut out a shape something like a summer squash. When you open it it will look like a butterfly (see above photo)
The long shape in yellow should be approximately the length of the edge the shape to the left.
-
3
Begin sewing the long skinny shape to the butterfly shape with the bulbous end at the bottom of the squash shape. (the big end) Like this.
-
4
Once you have stitched up one side start back down the other. Make sure to leave a space to stuff and flip.
-
5
Stuff as full as you like.
Stitch shut. (I recommend a hidden ladder stitch for this)
-
6
Straight stitch the green circle to the skinny green rectangle.
(I am so sorry I don't have a photo of this... I forgot to snap it in my rush to complete the five squashes I was making)
-
7
Flip the little "cap" you have made inside out. Place a small about of stuffing within.
-
8
Backstitch down the cap onto the summer squash on its head (the small end) wherever you feel is best.
-
9
Voila you are finished with your little squash. Ratatouille anyone?
I guess I will have to post a zucchini next yeah?
