Start by designing your cutter on a piece of paper. It's best to keep the design quite simple, such as a word or a single logo, like the Cut Out + Keep scissors. Use a typical cookie cutter to get the size of your design just right before cutting it out.
Take the sugru out of it's packet and roll out a rectangle, big enough for your design and about 1/4" thick.
Place the sugru on the bottom of the door knob and place your template on top.
Use a cutting knife to neatly cut around your template, removing the excess sugru.
Remove the template and tidy up the sugru.
I used a pen to punch a hole out of the middle of my scissors. Leave the sugru to harden overnight. As sugru is not yet tested for use with food, you can seal the design with a food-safe sealant spray, such as the type you'd use on ceramics, or wrap the punch in cling film before use.
To make the cookies, whisk together the butter, sugar, vanilla and egg. Sift in the flour and baking powder and combine into a thick dough.
Divide the cookie dough into two balls an roll out into two thick logs. Wrap in baking paper and refrigerate for a couple of hours. You can always freeze the second log to use at a later date.
Preheat the oven to 180'C and grease a baking tray. Cut your cookie dough into 1cm thick slices and space out evenly on the baking tray.
Dust the top of your cookies will a little flour and then press your cookie stamp into each cookie.
Bake for 10 minutes until they begin to turn gold. They should be soft when you bring them out but they'll harden up as they cool.
