I have always wanted to make sugar skulls. I could not find any local sugar skull molds so I had to order mine off of the internet. This is a great project (but messy as well). First you make the skulls. If it is humid they will take longer to set. The skulls do take a while to set up and dry thus the length in time. Then make the royal icing. Decorate as you please. I also used fondant for the horns on one of the skulls (attached with royal icing). I absolutely loved this project. I would recommend sitting while decorating as it would be much easier on the feet....lol.
