I haven't had a problem. Sometimes metal holds hot glue really firmly. It really depends on the surface you begin with. If someone else's posts have a mirror-smooth finish, they might do well to scratch them up a little.

Try the dollar or 99 cent store. They sometimes have variety packs with small jars in different colors.
