sorry these pictures aren't really for a "how to" the site is being tricksy tonight and this was s'posed to be a "creation"!! "you will need" section is being very silly!

to make this brooch i took a length of vintage lace and gathered it along one side with small tacking stitches and then pulled it tight to form a rufflei tied the threads together and joined the ends.
i then sewed on a cute button to the lace ruffle.
i made a suffolk puff/yo-yo following this tutorial from Heather Bailey i then sewed the lace ruffle/button combo to the puff.
last of all i sewed them onto a crochet doily/coaster from my trusty stash - at the same time sewing on a brooch pin.
