Beauty with a twist

About
You can find suede or leather lacing in the leather goods area of your favorite craft shop. There is now a wider selection in colors compared to a few years ago.
I saw something similar in a magazine once and had to duplicate it. Its beautiful by itself or with an added charm. I use them to dress up a tshirt and jeans.

Once you decide on how long you want your necklace to be add about 3-4 inches to the total length before you snip your chain or laces. You will lose some lenth in the twisting procedure. So cut your length and get our your supplies. For the time being you can put aside everything but your laces and cord tips.

2
Lay the end of your laces inside the cord tip as seen in this picture. Use pliers to press the sides in to meet the cord and close the tip.
Repeat procedure until all laces have tips on both ends.
-
3
Open a jumpring and slide your cord tips with laces and chain onto the jumpring. Once all are onto jumpring, close it.
-
4
You should end up with an end similar to this.
-
5
stretch out your pieces to begin the twisting process.

Here is where you get creative. No set pattern. You can braid or just swap items around or even just twist all items.
Bring all ends together in one spot. Don't worry if one end is longer than another. They necklace adjusts as you wear it. :-)

7
Open your other jumpring and slide on all the ends plus the jewelry clasp. Once you close your jumpring you have a necklace.
The necklace clasp is made to hook onto the jumpring on the other end.

Yay! Finished project :-)
You can add a small length of chain with a charm drop on the end as an alternative to the current jumpring connection for clasp. This will be pleasing to look at when your hair is up as well as adds an adjustable length.
