Studded Denim I Pod Case
Old pair of jeans to new iPod case.

I have lots of denim 'legs' left over from making full length jeans into shorts, and so this is one of the ways I came up with for using them up.

You Will Need (5 things)
- Eyelet Setter
- Ribbon
- Wadding
- Pyramid Studs
- Denim
Steps (19 steps, 35 minutes)
-
1
Start by using chalk to outline your iPod (or phone etc.)
-
2
Repeat step one until you have four outlines.
-
3
Cut the fabric such that you have two outlines per section.
-
4
I also cut out a small section from the leg of the jeans (as it's already hemmed) to create a headphones pocket, but this step is completely optional.
-
5
Place your iPod in the centre of the fabric and fold it over. Then use a different colour of chalk to mark where your device ends.
-
6
Then use another colour of chalk to add a seam allowance, I used a 2.5cm allowance to allow for the bulk that the wadding will add.
Then cut along these lines.
-
7
If you're adding a headphones pocket then on the right side of the fabric make a mark down the centre of the fabric.
(Ignore the blue line, that was a mistake.)
-
8
Then fold over one edge of your pocket piece and stitch it down along the line.
-
9
Then trim off the excess.
-
10
Then position the studs as you want them on the front of the case, avoiding getting to close the edges.
-
11
Using the fabric pieces as a guide, cut out a piece of wadding to fit between the two denim sections.
-
12
Then stitch your two denim sections together along the top, I used a French seam, but a normal one would work just as well.
-
13
Next, pin the wadding between the denim, ensuring that the loose edges of the pocket are pinned into place.
-
14
Then fold the layers of fabric in half (with the studded and pocketed edges on the inside) and add a few more pins to keep everything in place.
-
15
Stitch around the edges making sure to go through all six layers.
-
16
Then turn the case the right way round.
-
17
At this point I decided to add a few studs to the top of the headphones pocket.
-
18
Then use an eyelet punch to add two eyelets to the top of each side.
-
19
Then use ribbon to lace the case shut, and you're done.
