A simple way to spruce up an old or boring leather handbag with studs.
A simple way to spruce up an old or boring leather handbag with studs.
I used 4 different sized studs for this project. Buy a couple of packs of each size. Start with figuring out the design of the studded area and where you'd like to add studs on the bag - is it on the flap, in the corner or in the middle of the bag.
Once you've settled on a layout, stat punching holes for the studs. Add all the studs one by one. You could also use glue-on studs, so you wouldn't have to punch holes into the bag, but I've noticed that the glue-on studs aren't very durable.
Once all the studs are in place, cover the backs with a patch of scrap leather.
