Strawberry Vanilla Sourdough French Toast

Strawberries and vanilla come together for a surprise twist on french toast.

You Will Need (8 things)

  • 4 slices Sourdough Bread
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 tbsp Milk
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract split
  • 1 cup sliced Strawberries
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • Powdered Sugar for topping

Steps (6 steps, 20 minutes)

    Add strawberries, sugar and 1 tsp vanilla to small bowl. Gently toss with a spoon to make sure vanilla and sugar evenly distributed throughout strawberries. Set aside.

    Whisk eggs, milk and 1tsp vanilla in a shallow bowl. Dunk first slice of bread and flip over to cover other side with egg mixture.

    Preheat skillet over medium high heat, adding ½ TB butter to pan.

    Once pan is hot, place soaked bread in pan and allow to cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown. Flip over and repeat on other side.

    Repeat with remaining slices of bread.

    When ready to serve, top each slice with ¼ of the strawberries and their juices. Sprinkle with powdered sugar if you desire.
