Strawberry "Tree" Planter
A cheap and easy way to grow your strawberries!

About
I have wanted to buy one of these types of things, but never have the extra cash for it. So, I thought I would make my own with stuff I had laying around my house.
You could probably try other plants too! I bet herbs and lettuces could do well in this planter!
I will post another pic once the strawberries start growing in!

You Will Need (10 things)
- Strawberry Plant(s)
- 2 Wood
- 2 Wood Sticks
- 2 Wood Sticks
- Hemp String
- Soil
- 6 Metal Hanger s
- 1 yd Burlap
- Floral Wire
- 2 Wood Stakes or Dowels
Steps (7 steps, 120 minutes)

1
First get two pireces of wood about the same size. I found an old piece in my basement and cut it in half.
Then take the hangers and straighten them out. Bend the wire into a circle like in the picture. Do this with all your hangers and make sure the circles are the same size. I used 6 hangers, but you could use more or less if you want it smaller or larger.

Then attach the hangers together with the excess wire and build the frame. You could just buy one of those frames from a gardening store, but this way is a little cheaper!
-
3
Attach the wire frame to the wooden stakes with wire or string. Straighten the hangers as much as possible as you work your way up the frame.
-
4
Spread the burlap out and attach it to one side of the frame. I used hemp and just did I a little X stitch around each hanger circle.
-
5
Roll the rest of the burlap around the frame and stitch it all together. Fold the top over and stitch that down as well.
-
6
Cut holes in the burlap, making sure to leave enough space between each hole, so it will still hold it's shape.
I left the bottom part of the hole still attached and just folded then inside once it was filled with soil. I'm not sure if it makes much of a difference, but it should strengthen the opening a little.

Then fill it with soil from the opening at the bottom and plant your strawberries in the openings.
