Description

This is a project I added to the site ages ago, but it mysteriously went missing when we changed server. Anyway, this was a present for my friend Miquette.

Instructions

  1. Small 3465

Draw out a rectangle on the felt, but slant two of the corners inwards.

  2. Small 3466

    Cut out the rectangle shape.

  3. Small 3467

Cut another rectangle, this time measuring.

  4. Small 3468

Thread a needle with hot pink embroidery thread.

  5. Small 3469

Place the smaller rectangle on top, at the bottom, of the larger rectangle and stitch around the outside. Make sure to leave the inside edge unstitched.

  6. Small 3470

Lay our the lining fabric and draw around the outline of the purse on to the fabric.

  7. Small 3471

    Cut out this shape.

  8. Small 3472

Pin the lining fabric to the outside of the purse.

  9. Small 3473

    Thread a needle.

  10. Small 3474

Stitch around the outline again, securing the lining fabric in place.

  11. Small 3475

When you have finished, turn the purse inside out, so that the pink felt faces out.

  12. Small 3476

    Choose an appropriate button.

  13. Small 3477

    Stitch the button in place.

  14. Small 3478

Make a button hole in the flap where it meets the button.

  15. Small 3479

To decorate I made two strawberries out of red and green felt and used little butterfly buttons.
