About

This is Marveletta O'Houlihan from Sarah Skeate & Nicola Tedman's book, Steampunk Softies. She cost very little to make as she used scraps of fabric and pieces of metal, etc (i collect little bits of metal like cogs for projects). I think she turn out great and I'm starting on another softie from the book.

  • Needles
  • Sewing Cotton
  • Pins
  • Broken Jewellery
  • Small pieces of Metal
  • Fabric Scraps
  • Sharpies or any permanent markers
  • Super Glue
  • Toy Stuffing
  • Cardboard
  • Wire

Steps (6 steps, 120 minutes)

  1. 1

You need the book as the instruction are detailed. I went wrong by cutting out my pattern pieces before reading the instructions. You need to cut out pieces to the books step by step.

  2. 2

Cut out and ready to go.

  3. 3

Sewing her face in was a little tricky. I used stained by sharpie markers to draw her face on.

  4. 4

Body and head stitched. Needed to add all her decorative pieces and her collar.
I made her opera glasses before they were fixed onto her.

  5. 5

Collar, opera glasses and decoration added.

  6. 6

All done!!! Think she looks great. Ready to make another steampunk softie. If you decide to make one, make sure you read the instructions and follow what you need to.
