Steampunk, to me, is the child of availability of resources and the need for beauty. I had an old barrette that had lost the jewel in the center of it. After dismantling a few watches, I had an excess of old clock bits that needed to be used. Thus, the Steampunk barrette was born!

Gather supplies. Not pictured are the tweezers. At first, I had considered using a cameo, but the sizing was off. So then I switched over to my bits of watches.
Assemble the hands of the watch and glue into place. Most watch hands nest into each other, so mixing different hands is a bit difficult.
Glue watch face onto barrette, allow to dry and rock your new hair accessory!
